We’re helping Charlie & Ivy’s raise money for HOPING York Street Kitchen

We’re proud to share the news that we are helping fellow Yorkshire Wolds family business Charlie & Ivy’s raise money for its charity of the year by donating chicken for its next Supper Club on 19th September.

The team at Charlie & Ivy’s has organised a series of producer-led supper clubs to raise money for HOPING (Helping Other People In Need Group) York Street Kitchen, its charity of the year. The third of four events takes place on 19th September at The Cook’s Place in Malton, when diners will enjoy appetisers and a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a three-course supper cooked by the venue’s proprietor, Gilly Robinson. The supper will include seasonal dishes using pickles, chutneys and jams from York-based Puckett’s Pickles, whose founder Sarah Puckett will chat to guests as their meal is being prepared. The chicken will be part of a main course featuring Onion Tarte Tatin, Curried Green Beans and Charlotte Potatoes.

Jennie Palmer, Charlie & Ivy’s marketing manager, said: “We’re hoping to raise £1,000 for HOPING over the four events. Thanks to the generosity of lead producer Puckett’s Pickles and other local producers, including Soanes, Luke’s Bakery, Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice and Gin from Rare Bird Distillery, all of the proceeds after costs from the September event will go to HOPING.”

Our MD, Ben Lee, said: “Community has been at the heart of our rural business for almost 80 years, so we’re delighted to help Jennie and the team to raise valuable funds for such a deserving cause.”

Tickets for the supper cost £65 per person, and each event is limited to 12 people. They are available to book online at https://www.charlieandivys.co.uk/supper-club.
