Higher Welfare Chicken

Higher Welfare, wholesome, tasty chicken

Our new Higher Welfare chickens live in light, airy barns with natural light and ventilation and have 20% more room than our standard chickens and lots of enrichment items to stimulate their natural behaviours. These higher welfare conditions and animal husbandry standards deliver an outstandingly tasty chicken that tastes like chicken used to.

Chicken – the affordable, healthy protein option with a low carbon footprint

Healthy, affordable and versatile, chicken is the meat
protein that has the smallest environmental impact, so not only is it good for
you, it’s better for the environment than other meat protein sources too. For

AssureWel assessment protocol

We use the AssureWel welfare outcome assessment protocol for chicken to assist us with assessing the welfare of our flocks. As part of these standardised assessments, we look at a number of key health and welfare outcomes for chickens, such as the birds' walking ability, their interaction with enrichment items, and other active behaviours such as running, sparring and wing flapping.
