Nine of our fabulous team members are celebrating the successful completion of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely a safety management course.
The delegates on the three-day course represented all departments of the business, including farms, lairage, operations, despatch and transport and all levels from team leaders to senior managers. The course provided essential, practical health and safety skills, focusing on risk assessment, control measures, legal responsibilities, and incident investigation to improve workplace safety performance.
MD Ben Lee is proud of the team’s success: “The course is designed to provide practical, immediate tools for safety management rather than just theoretical knowledge. While health and safety has always been a shared responsibility across the management team, the wider team now has the knowledge and skills to strengthen compliance and further develop a proactive safety culture across every department, alongside our NEBOSH-accredited health and safety manager, Kevin Holderness.”
Delegate Piotr Trzeciak, Operations Liaison Manager, found the course both interesting and useful: “I now feel confident to assess and control risks and have a greater understanding of hazards, responsibilities and using data to measure and improve performance.”
IOSH is the voice of the occupational health and safety profession and supports its members to make the world of work safer and healthier.
Great work, team Soanes!
