Celebrating 70 years of premier chicken

T.Soanes and Son was founded in 1947 at Church Hill Farm, where the factory now stands, when Tom Soanes and his son, Clive began trading the poultry that they had reared on their Yorkshire Wolds farms. Today we employ 100 staff, rear over five million chickens from our 11 farms and supplies our premium poultry nationwide.

To mark the milestone, we have created a new anniversary logo, have produced a commemorative recipe booklet and are busy making plans for a summer BBQ for staff and growers.

Our General manager Nigel Upson said the anniversary is testament to T. Soanes and Son’s reputation as a leading quality poultry supplier: “Reaching seventy years in our business is no mean feat. We are all extremely proud to be part of this established and respected poultry business that still retains the same values that Tom and Clive established seven decades ago.

“Their commitment was, and ours is still, to rear poultry to high standards of welfare so that the end product is tasty and succulent.”

The idea for the commemorative recipe booklet entitled ‘A celebration of 70 years of T.Soanes & Son in recipes’ came from our Sales Manager, Tom Kingston. Featuring a foreword from Margaret Soanes, wife of the late Clive, the booklet contains 10 recipes and will be available from stockists of T. Soanes and Son poultry. You can also download it here.
